Senftenberger See - situated in the middle of the Lusatian Lakeland
The Senftenberger See (1.300 ha) is a fantastic example of the successful re-cultivation of former mining, industrial landscapes, and is the starting point of the future of the lake area.
In approximately 15 years this area is going to be the biggest "artificial" water landscape of Europe and the fourth biggest lake area in Germany. In the main part of that area is a group of lakes with navigable canals. Its water surface is more than twice as big as the one of the Müritz.
