Navigable waters

The Senftenberger See has been classified as navigable water since 2007 and has since been discovered by sailors and boaters from the water. Since 2013, water hikers have been able to use the first navigable connection in the Lusatian Lake District, the Koschen Canal, to get from Lake Senftenberg to Lake Geierswalde. More information about the Koschen Canal can be found here. The following sections of Lake Senftenberg are not navigable:

•  at a distance up to 100 metres from the shoreline:
eastern end of Großkoschen beach, east and north shore up to the western end of Niemtsch beach
→ exceptions are jetties, landing stages for passenger boats and designated landing points
•  area from the southern shore, west of the Marina camping, to the end of the southern straight and top of the southern lake west side up to Niemtsch, south of the passenger ship landing stage, is closed to all vehicles
•  Vehicles with a motor cannot navigate between the top of the southern lake west side and the end of the southern straight
•  Landing on the island and navigating around its waters is forbidden for all vehicles
